Steps to Freedom (12 Steps/Recovery Ministry)
The 12 Steps began with Alcoholics Anonymous, but has spread as a way to help with many other life issues. The AA Big Book contains the story of its origination and the basic premise of the program: HONESTY.
Honesty is about truth-telling, not about beating up ourselves or others, but rather seeing ourselves as God sees us. It’s about admitting we are not God, about letting God be God. As we take a glance at the steps, the promises from the Big Book can be true for us:
“…we are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness. We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it. We will comprehend the word, serenity, and we will know peace”.
Steps to Freedom meets Sunday nights at Oasis Community Church @ 6pm. Childcare is available with advance notice.
